The Tech Trap | always learning

Here is something new I am trying - I found an interesting post on a blog I was reading and discovered that I could link to the post itself by clicking on a linking button at the bottom of the post. It was easy. You will notice that I have not figured out how to embed the post so that it opens as a new window and allows you to return to my blog. Hmmm.

The reason I wanted to share this with everyone (although no one is reading my blog it seems) was that it had some interesting things to say about how easy it is to get overwhelmed by all of the new technology out there for education. Most of us need to take it slow and really get comfortable with a FEW innovative methods instead of leaping from exciting tool to exciting tool. And we need to expect our co-workers or students to experience the same overload.

See what the author, Kim Cofino, had to say on her blog "always learning" below:

So glad you found my post helpful! I do think it's important to find the tools that are useful to you as individual to begin a personal learning journey with technology. No need to know everything all at once!

Your link took me straight to her blog and that whole convo on her page was interesting! I am not a teacher/trainer but I do see a great benefit of surveys pre- and post-class to measure what is working as well as to judge the needs of the students. One step at a time works well for learning new things especially something that can be as complex as technology.
